Manchester is home to one hospital, the Manchester Memorial Hospital. MMH is a member of the Eastern Connecticut Health Network, the main office of which is also in Manchester. Manchester is also famous for the Manchester Community College, a 2-year community college that offers general-education classes during the summer.

Manchester occupies 27.6 square miles ten miles east of the capital city Hartford, halfway between New York City and Boston.
